The art of super stylish dressing - How to stand out in a crowd.

Written by Simmon Wagner on May 19, 2019 1:11:50 PM

When a woman knows her worth, she shines with an inner confidence that beams out in any room.
Dress up! Watching my 13-year-old choose her catch-up weekend outfits is amazing and a feat of sheer restraint. It is no longer my place to dictate her fashion choices. I can only suggest, gently!

In a crowd of generic fast-food dressing, a woman with self confidence doesn't dress in prescriptive fashion styles. She doesn't look like everyone else. She holds herself with a I-dont-care-what-you-think attitude, because her self confidence radiates from an inner validation, not needing, or seeking anyones approval.
Armed with inner-validation-confidence, anything is possible.

1. Be a woman who surprises with your sartorial choices. #sartorialstyle
You can wear anything, arty-artistic with a slash of red lipstick, or minimalist cool, but what ever choice you make, just make sure it's beautiful.

2. Wear what YOU want to wear. Don't listen to anyone else.

3.Never be scared to be yourself.
A simple fashion premise to have and to hold. You were born different. You were born unique. A unique compilation of quirks, flaws and dreams, and each of those individual gems add up to make you different, different to every other person in the room.
Embrace your differences and run towards them. For it is there where you will find, your greatest gifts.

4. Authentic power comes from being genuine.
Lots of the fashion images we see on social media, marketing billboards and television aren't real. Someone glamourising themselves and being photoshopped and micro edited during fashion week, for some, is a paid job, with a huge crew of artists surrounding them, to make sure that final shot is media savvy.
This is the fashion industry and it asks us to compare ourselves to images that do not wake up looking like that.
I don't really suffer comparing myself too much to these ideals - I take them for what they are - glamorous images, with great ideas on how to combine and wear new season fashion. Style writer, Simmon Wagner.
Choose your own inspirations, then expand as free as your imagination runs wild. Surprise people - why would you want to look like everybody else?

5. Dress up! There's no such thing as bad taste!
Put the thrill back into choosing and combining your fashion pieces.
Dress up! Watching my 13-year-old choose her catch-up weekend outfits is amazing and a feat of sheer restraint. It is no longer my place to dictate her fashion choices. I can only suggest, gently!
There really is no such thing as bad taste, just bad manners and bad attitude. Wear your combinations with grace and a smile.

The woman who stands out in a crowd doesn't take herself too seriously.

My daughter left the house today with her Sid Vicious silver bike-chained, black and white chequered pants, a rapper, neon-emblazoned-fitted tee, navy based, floral-high-top sneakers and a black leather, knapsack. Her smile grinned great-but not-too-great. And as she loped out the door, happy in her choices, she turned and smiled her toothy brilliant smile - and I thought she looked pretty amazing too. xxx

My new fashion article, published today nationwide by Swish Plus Size Fashion, Australia.
Happy Sunday! Have a fantastic week everyone.
