The pleasure of decluttering your wardrobe and sparking joy.

The pleasures of stripping back unnecessary things from out lives, have been well explored and I'm humbled to report, I'm an absolute convert.

'Remove clutter and spark joy', of course is not a new concept but in recent times Marie Kondo's idea of asking ourselves, does this item spark joy? with items in our home, or new items, is a simple process designed to give us all what we need most - more E N E R GY!

And it has had me questioning long-held beliefs.

At one time I fantasized about having a huuuuge walk-in wardrobe, colour coded, with easy accessible space between my garments, but now not so much. You see, my wardrobe has grown to huuuuge, BUT, I do not have the easy accessible space between my garments.

Most mornings I seriously need to lower my shoulder and strong-arm my hanging garments aside to find in my wardrobes depths, that one perfect Swish item, I know resides somewhere lost within.

So, I've been on a mission to strip back the unnecessary things from my life and WOW what a difference this has made to my energy levels and my productivity.

I have an August wardrobe challenge for you.

Don't wait for Spring! I'd like you to have a wardrobe declutter this month.

Trust me, you'll be amazed how good it feels to create room for energy by clearing out the unnecessary clutter from your life and making way for plus-size wardrobe pieces that spark joy.

5 Great Reasons to declutter today!

1. You will get allergy relief!

Cluttered stuff collects dust, mites and even mould in worst case scenarios. Clear away the stuff and create clean breathing space.

2. You will feel happier and have more positive energy!

When you are no longer hovering in front of a cluttered wardrobe, stressing out with minutes to spare in your morning routine, you will feel calm, lighter, happier.

3. You could lose weight.

Studies have been made that high stress and increased cortisol levels - reacting to the fight or flight scenario - impact or health and the accumulation of belly fat.

4. Your days will be more productive.

When you don't have to strong-arm your way through piles of clothing to get dressed, you will do so much more in less time.

5. You'll feel less anxious.

Your clutter is a constant reminder of unfinished tasks. And unfinished tasks help to keep your focus in feelings of failure - the inability to complete tasks and weakness. By making a conscious choice to clear out the clutter you will reduce feelings of anxiety.

Give a declutter challenge a go. Get yourself Spring ready by consciously making time and room for more moments of joy in your life.

When something irresistible comes along, you will be able to maintain your precious equilibrium by having the space, energy and joy to include it in your life.
