How beautiful prints make beautiful outfits for the plus size woman

Floral prints are having a major come back this season. Designers have recreated romantic florals with unexpected bursts of colour, turning heads and becoming modern classics.

For the plus size woman, powerful prints add instant style and fun to even the simplest outfits. Prints are the easiest way to add punch to our outfits and to highlight to our beautiful curvy assets.

"I can’t get enough of this romantic trend. I love my garden and the lush outdoors so for winter fashion to bring this trend in from the cold, I’m smitten to say the least".

Instead of loud and over-the-top prints, this season they are pretty, and totally wearable, like this version in a modern sweet pea pink and French purple palette, which works just as well for a lunch date as it does in the office.

There is universal affection for this season’s Swish Fashion and the Sweet Pea Chiffon Top.

On a chillier day, I teamed it with this gorgeous quilted vest. Perhaps it was its poppy pink colour, but there were wide eyes of admiration and “oooooos” all around the lunch table when I wore it this Easter.

The key to styling prints in any season?

Keep the rest of your look minimal so the print can really stand out.

Mix and match your new season floral print tops with simple classic black pants and a gorgeous pair of almost to the knee black riding boots or a classic low heeled black pump.

This season, the floral print inspired vibe is popping up everywhere, from tops to dresses and this beautiful jacket I had to have. I love teaming the Blush Lined Jacket with my black riding boots for stylish fun weekend wear – perfect for checking out an art exhibition and a long afternoon lunch.

If I wanted to polish the look even more I would throw on this gorgeous Blush Lined Jacket (a new winter coat in a beautiful blush pink is always a good idea) and I would dab a beautiful bold pink, red or blush pink lipstick as our lovely model has done here.

With prints at the top of my list, these are my top five items to add instant style and fun to your winter wardrobe!

1. Add a floral print
By adding in your own personal wardrobe touches, floral prints look unique, glamorous and of course, very exotic and will brighten your wardrobe instantly.

2. Mix & Match textures
This winter is all about dreamy textures and prints so reinvent and create fabulous new outfits by simply mixing and matching items in your wardrobe. Lush coloured scarves, beanies, lipsticks, coats, tops and shoes, linked together by a common colour tone, the options are endless. You are only limited by your imagination!

3 and 4. Spoil yourself with a new coat and lipstick in an unexpected or favourite colour!
Make your own dramatic entrance beautiful with unexpected colour. The Blush Lined Jacket is my favourite this winter. It reminds me of the curvy glamourous 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and even the 1960s! I am going to channel my inner 1940s muse and wear this with a blush red lipstick and my black Ponte Point Swish pants.

5. Try something new.
Try a new colour, a new texture, get inspired by all the resources you have at your fingertips. Pinterest is a great fashion, style, image source of inspiration. I use it often – I keep folders of style periods I love, or as a resource on how to style my current wardrobe pieces. I bought a black tube pencil skirt – when I searched those key words Pinterest gave me endless options of how to style my simple black pencil tube skirt. And it took seconds and I could search from the comfort of my dining table. Easy!
