How To Look Good In a Plus Size Coat

Written by Amanda Spalding | Jun 1, 2017 11:44:23 PM

It has finally become chilly.  If you live in Orange (like me), it's a bit chillier than other places with the temperature being down to -4 degrees and thick ice on the car windscreen, winter is truly here.

I love winter clothes and particularly coats.  I've written some steps on looking good in plus size coats for 40+ women who are over a size 16:

  1. Bright colours – like this bright red lambiekins coat.
  2. Accessories – like the hat with the lambiekins coat. I have also just bought red and black ankle boots, and a scarf and brooch look good too.
  3. Don’t wear bulky layers underneath the coat.
  4. Wear fake fur at the neck and wrists to take the eye away from any of your own bulky area.

It is currently National Reconciliation Week which runs annually from 27 May – 3 June. In 2017, we reflect on two significant anniversaries in Australia’s reconciliation journey – 50 years since the 1967 referendum, and 25 years since the historic Mabo decision.

We had a flag raising ceremony this morning and I wore red and black to match most of the Aboriginal Flag – I don’t possess many gold coloured clothes to symbolise the sun between the sky and the earth.

My all-time favourite coat is my turquoise duffle coat which as a name – Desmond the Duffle Coat.  Here is a picture of Desmond with the ultimate accessory – The Tardis, which also reminds us that it is time we had a female Dr. Who!!
