Tomorrow is Valentine’s day and there is no other day more perfect to celebrate and spoil the most important person in your life – you!

I understand Valentine’s day is not for everyone, but partnered or not, we are all capable of sprinkling more love into the world.

So let’s get ready to create some magic this Valentine’s Day.

My Top Ten 10 simple ways you can create magic this Valentine’s day.

1. Wake up tomorrow morning and take time to make yourself FEEL your best. Look directly into your mirror and say three kind things to yourself.

‘This sounds simple but too often we are too busy to pause each morning and acknowledge the best friend staring straight back at us, the one who knows and loves us best – ourselves’.

2.Have fun and give yourself a before and after makeover, perhaps make a day of it and call a friend to come over and do it with you.

Why not try out a new look and slip into some new season Swish velvet like this velvet trimmed Pink Panther Jacket. Worn here with a new season Swish classic black velvet cami and gorgeous loose flowing inky black velvet pants – perfect for a date night outfit or for any celebratory event.

 3. Go shopping for yourself.

Buy something outrageous and fun, from a decadent box of yours-only-chocolates to be squirrelled away in your private feel-good-bedside-drawer or a fabulous new outfit.

 4. Create your own dream closet.

If you don’t own your dream closet make 2018 your year to create one beginning now. Remember to pick pieces, colours and styles for your wardrobe that make you feel great, vital and beautiful.

5. Accessorize. Adorn yourself with things that feel good for your spirit—maybe splash out and buy that gorgeous top you’ve seen in your favourite store, or wear that special quartz crystal that's been sitting in your jewelry box - no need to wait for a special occasion.

Fabulous Swish linen – the Tri Linen top in sparkling white and cool greys.

6. Treat yourself at home. Create your own at home day spa and rub beautiful-smelling oils like tea tree and citrus or whatever takes your fancy into your skin.

‘I know this is not romantic but I have just bought an electronic foot scraper and, I love how smooth my feet are. I completely obsessed with my foot scraper’.

7. Make your eyes sparkle. Curl your eyelashes or get some eyelash extensions – eyelash extensions are everywhere these days.

‘I prefer to glue on my own eyelash extensions for special occasions – it’s easy to do and super inexpensive’.

8. Call someone you love – or many someones - and tell them you love them.

9. Do something kind and unexpected.I am continually amazed by all the selfless acts of kindness and goodness I see strangers giving to one another. In Ballarat Victoria there is a laneway called Food is Free Laneway - strangers/neighbours in the community donate fresh produce for all to partake of.

Perhaps pick up an extra coffee on your daily commute and drop it off to that homeless person you pass by each day..

10. Create happy memories and buy yourself some flowers.

‘I am a romantic at heart – I love receiving flowers.

When I first left home and lived in Auckland, I loved my weekend strolls with our loopy golden afghan hound - Sasha, she was beautiful but completely loopy - down the hill from our apartment to the Ponsonby markets.

I would buy delicious garlic-cream potato skins, a spicy celery and carrot juice and a bouquet of whichever bunch of flowers seemed especially gorgeous and enticing. Happy, yummy happy memories!’
