Everyone can agree that vacations are amazing, and packing a travel wardrobe can be daunting without a plan!
Warm weather vacations and ocean bound cruises are the best kind of vacations as they are lighter to pack for and leave space in your luggage for options!
I’m an options girl, however im also a super meticulous packer.
I am never ‘the throw whatever into the suitcase and hope it sorts itself out later’ person.
I travel a lot both interstate and internationally and when packing for a vacation, my motto is ‘be prepared’. I don’t want to waste time or money rushing about buying a holiday garment at holiday prices at the last minute.
STYLE TIP: MAKE A LIST BEFORE YOU PACK!
To help you preapre for this vacation season, i've shared my top 3 travel tips for packing the perfect suitcase.

1. BE PREPARED
Last year I attended the Ubud Writer’s Festival in Bali for 7 days.
7 days of writing conferences, meeting new contacts, speaking and presenting at one event and meeting new friends, lunches, dinners, walking, swimming and exploring.
The first night we sat in the balmy majesty of the Royal gardens and embraced the pageantry of the welcoming ceremony. From then we were transported to a dinner hosted by the Queen of Bali for the 250 authors from all over the world invited to attend as speakers at the conference.
I needed two outfits for that day and evening. One a travel outfit to get me from Melbourne, then into the seductive heat of Bali at our Balinese resort then a dinner appropriate outfit and shoes to meet the Queen of Bali and dine with strangers.
I was confident knowing that my small suitcase held everything I needed.
I factored in each outfit, for each event, each day, right down to shoes and probable lipstick colours. Yes, I am that much of a planner!
‘I was prepared and each day dressing for the events was seamless and a breeze.
By planning each outfit ahead of time, I found ways to double up on outfits, to share pieces between looks and days – simple tricks like swapping the colour of a basic cami from black to white and changing shoes and accessories to give a whole new look to a basic outfit.

basic makeup items and then one small suitcase checked in".

2. SIMPLICITY
Just because something is simple doesn’t mean it is boring. Choose pieces with clean lines, pieces that fit well and in fantastic condition and you know you look fabulous in!
This way you will always feel ready for the exploration of the day, groomed and looking fabulous!
This peak front jersey top stands out as a gorgeous colour choic,e especially when worn against crisp summer white pants. And there are so many ways you can change this one simple outfit either by changing the pants to black and adding a shawl for the evening or changing your shoe and lipstick with a little more sparkle. Or simply change your top completely with the gorgeous Goddess Jacket.
The options are endless!
3. VERSATILITY
My wardrobe is black, white and tan with navy, grey and pink accents - mostly – so I find my entire wardrobe compliments each other. When you travel with a wardrobe full of pieces that can mix and match, it’s a no brainer! You will get more outfits from a smaller suitcase.
Keep it versatile.. color blocking will make coordinating so much easier.
